Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Upgrade Available to Dell Holiday Shoppers For $19; Media Center Dimension Desktops Start at Under $520 for Limited Time
ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) today reduced the price of upgrading to Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Media Center Edition 2005 digital entertainment software by 50 percent on select Dimension(TM) desktop computers for customers in the United States. The price will enable more consumers to tap into the power of their personal computer as an entertainment device and is part of Dell's aggressive effort to give holiday shoppers more enjoyment from their PC for less money.
Until November 22, customers can custom-configure their new PCs with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 for as little as $19 more than Windows XP Home Edition after $20 instant savings, including the Dimension 3000, 4700, 4700C, 8400 and XPS systems.

Starting today, the Dell Dimension 3000 system running Windows XP Media Center is priced at $518 after promotions and includes a 2.8 GHz Intel(R) Pentium 4 processor, 256 MB shared(a) memory, a 40 GB(b) hard drive, DVD and CD-RW drives and a 17-inch (16.0-inch v.i.s) CRT monitor.
